Psychoeducational Testing

School accommodations are essential for many children & teens with ADHD. This must be done through your child's school and often involves psychoeducational testing, which is performed by a school psychologist either at your child's school or hired as an outside consultant. Here is an excellent overview of what schools use as a roadmap for the accommodations that are tailored specifically to each child.

It is the obligation of each public school district to offer testing for those who need it. Your practitioner can make that recommendation if they feel it is clinically necessary. However, most school districts are very backed up and testing can take over one year to be completed. In many cases families decide to get testing by a private psychologist who can make reports that are sent to the school. Here is a list of area psychologists to consider:
*Karen Kelly PhD in Wayne is private pay and does neuropsychological evaluations.
*Amy Schmidt, PhD NCSP is private pay and does neuropsychological evaluations.
*Rand Coleman at Theraplay is private pay and does neuropsychological evaluations.
