Individual Therapy pairs the individual with a clinician best suited to their individual needs / symptoms. The therapist engages with the client in a style best suited to the individual, developing rapport, building trust, and allowing the client to explore their symptoms, develop goals, grow and heal. Typical sessions run for 50-60 minutes.
In couples therapy , the therapist will remain balanced by understanding each partner's perspective on the problem. Our therapists typically utilize Emotional Focused Therapy ( EFT), an evidenced based treatment practice that helps couples de-escalate when talking about the problem, hear one another , share vulnerabilities, develop empathy for one another’s experiences and re-establish new ways of relating to one another that is more productive.
When a child or teen is having a hard time coping with challenges in their lives, therapy is a great option. Our therapists will develop a style that bests suits your child and may including empathic listening, practicing coping skills through activities and art, role play and modeling, cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness activities and much more.
These services are best for individuals who would like to increase positive behaviors (like social skills, attention to task, and communication) or decrease troublesome behaviors (like hitting, interrupting, or other negative habits). Children with Autism and ADHD often benefit from these evidence based approaches but they work well for anyone who would like to see a change in their own behaviors!
Medication management is the speciality of Dr. Danish and the other medical practitioners at Philadelphia Integrative Psychiatry. If medications are indicated, we will discuss the indications and potential side effects. In many cases as conditions improve, we look to lower doses and eventually come off of the medications.
